Top Law Schools

I tried searching through the forum, I couldn't find anything, yet there's probably other posts about this.

Anyhow, anyone know if its possible to fail a P/F class in law school. Wondering how much more i should study in my accounting for lawyers class and how (which is PF) or if I should spend time studying (aka procrastinating) on other stuff.

Ever hear of someone failing?

Possible? Yes. Likely? No.

At most schools anyway. I imagine if you wrote utter nonsense or completely misstated very basic concepts you might fail. But at most schools passing is a pretty low bar.

If it were a normal doctrinal several-hour-essay-final course, I'd say very, very hard to fail without trying. Not sure about accounting for lawyers though - basic accounting probably has more 'right answers' than a doctrinal law course, and it might be more difficult to conceal your lack of knowledge depending on how the final is laid out.

The only time I've heard of this is for attendance reasons. That was a kid who literally did not show up to more than 1 or 2 classes that semester and the professor telling him he was going to fail halfway through the semester if he didn't start to come and he didn't. If you're really that paranoid check your grade distributions, I doubt theres an F anywhere in a P/F class with a test. Maybe in a paper class if you legit don't turn in the paper, but just take the test and you'll be fine.

I would think that if you could outline dump something that is relatively responsive to the question asked, you would pass.

I know a lot of classmates who took accounting for lawyers p/f, none took it seriously, all passed. Not sure how much actual studying they did for it.
