1L --> 2L Adjustment

Post by doctoroflaw91 » Fri Sep 05, 2014 3:43 pm

I suppose this is a bit of an odd question. I'm currently a 2L. During my 1L year, I absolutely worked myself to death, to the point that I was paranoid about eating dinner with my family because that was time that I could be studying. It was a completely impractical, and admittedly over-the-top way to approach school, but I was fortunate enough to have it pay off grade-wise.

Now I'm a 2L. I have three seminars that will require papers, one exam class, and an externship for credit. As odd as it sounds, it's weirding me out that I don't feel like I have enough work to fill the time that I spent studying 1L year. Even weirder is the fact that it's stressing me out because I feel as though I must not be doing enough. I'm also used to being in the 1L environment where all students are frenemies because of the curve.

Did anyone else go through an odd sort of adjustment period after starting 2L year? How much did your study schedule vary between the two years?

Don't you have work for journal and/or extracurricular activities?

I am writing for a secondary journal, but no other extracurriculars at this time (transfer student).
