Is Koz an asshole to his clerks?

his clerks work the craziest schedule ive ever heard of. esp for anything fed. its business formal, 365 days a year or something draconian with long hours.

Yeah, the stories are like legends.

Apparently he calls the office at 6:30 am to make sure that his clerks are at the office and he also calls each clerks desk at 8:30pm to make sure you are still working then.

At least the clerks know what they're getting into. His OSCAR profile even says something to the affect that he expects his clerks to work crazy hours.

An old but hilarious article on Judge Kozinski that includes some information about the experience of clerking for him: http://legalaffairs.org/issues/January- ... nfeb04.msp

I don't think I would work those hours for a chance at SCOTUS. I don't hate myself that much.

I had a prof who clerked for Kozinski. He had the same stories. He said when he went to his (classic biglaw 80-hour-weeks) firm, he was the only person for whom the hours were a break.
