1L year I read for every class, took detailed book and class notes, and briefed every case. I started outlining around the first of November. If you haven't started outlining, you need to start. I ended up in the top 10%, but honestly, I think it just boils down to how well you can take a test. There's a good chance that everybody is going to know the material by exam time. What will separate you is your ability to regurgitate what you know and apply the law that you've learned to a certain set of facts. Once you finish your outline do practice problems (I got a lot of mine from E&Es). Good luck!
