Take the attitude of phoning it in early and you'll never get out of the "taking more shit" phase. Work (in any regard) generally sucks. That's reality. You work your ass off with the hope that someday you'll be able to be independent. Until then, no one is going to give you anything. In all reality, in this economy and the way the boomer generation is sticking around in the workforce, most people are going to fight to keep you from getting what you earned. I can understand the "grass is greener" mentality, but realize it's just escapism.

I also am attending a lower ranked law school "for just about free" so I can relate. I guess you have to ask yourself why you applied to law school. Do you enjoy learning the law? Do you want to be a lawyer? If so, I would say press on. I think everybody goes through a phase of buyer's remorse after being subjected to the socratic method for the first time and lots of talk about professionalism, and grades, and the poor job market after graduation. It helps to engage yourself with the material. Most of the cases are in the book for a reason: they are controversial. So try and motivate yourself that way, to read the cases with an analytical eye and try to understand why the judges decided what they did.
