Should I be crying myself to sleep? How do you find the motivation to make it through 1L? Do you have to be excited by the material or should you just power through, because practicing law is different from hearing lectures on legal topics?
Movie quote, but I think it applies: You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son.
Take the attitude of phoning it in early and you'll never get out of the "taking more shit" phase. Work (in any regard) generally sucks. That's reality. You work your ass off with the hope that someday you'll be able to be independent. Until then, no one is going to give you anything. In all reality, in this economy and the way the boomer generation is sticking around in the workforce, most people are going to fight to keep you from getting what you earned. I can understand the "grass is greener" mentality, but realize it's just escapism.
