BB is my friend in real life. I can confirm that he was hit by a car moments before the bar exam. He is literally depressed due to the bar results. In addition to that, he may never be able to throw a ball with his kids. Another poster mentioned that this is a "new low for TLS." Contrarily, the way you all are treating BB is a new low for TLS. The guy lost everything and now he has to deal with you all claiming that he's a liar.

The thing is its not even a good troll...the guy has posted about failing the bar in like 3 or 4 different states now.

By the way, is everyone feeling good about NJ now that we have our results? I got above a 150 MBE and so things are really looking up.

We all sorta new that when the PA results came in (positively) that they would be a predictor for NJ. Perhaps, unsurprisingly, I think most of us are in good spots. Glad I passed, but I do feel extremely bad for those who did not. Odds are it's by a few points and hopefully s/he can easily identify what needs to improve to get beyond that.

The results for the MBE are out for PA bar takers who also took the NJ bar.

Oh. My MBE was a modest 148. Is that going to be good enough for NJ, you think?

Scaled I'm assuming. I think so. You need just over 60% to pass NJ which wegihts 50/50. You essentially got just below 70% on the MBE and now it's weighted more. Basically, if you get more than 50% on the essays, you should be good to go - perhaps even a bit less.

Yeah, scaled. Thanks! Anyone know how NJ releases results? Is there going to be a publicly posted list first, or do they notify us individually somehow?

The above analysis is shitty. With a 148 you'd have to do really shitty to fail NJ. Like below bottom ten percentile bad.

And since Penn weighs the mbe less, we know you did better than tenth percentile on penn written. So unless you totally tanked Nj worse than penn you have nothing to fear. It's almost a sure thing.

I'm in Ohio...I just want a serviceable MBE, as it is weiged 1/3. I wonder what MBE score would count as serviceable in a 1/3 jurisdiction. Maybe a 120 raw? Who knows. Maybe less.

I wish I had Nate Silver here to give me comfort like he did a year ago at this time about the President's re-election chances.

Word on the street is MA mailed out sometime yesterday... but no one I know has actually received his/her letter. So everyone who took MA should know by Friday at the latest, if this info is correct.

Hi all, haven't posted here in about 3 years. Just wanted to let all those fellow MA-bar exams takers that I received my results in the mail today. (FYI I live about 25 miles north of Boston). The letter came in a normal letter-sized envelope and scared the hell out of me. I passed. No scores or anything else like that indicated, except for a congratulations and the date of my swearing in ceremony. Good luck to everyone else!

If a 148 means you get a bar card, don't worry.

I'm also still not sold that states scale the same way. The dood who runs the NY bar study website is ADAMANT raw scores are much closer to the scaled score NY gives you than the 'traditional' scale, for example
