If it makes you all feel better, I've basically just spent my time memorizing the MBE stuff, and haven't even read or reviewed two California topics yet. I don't even know what trusts and estates or remedies are about.

I plan to try to read and memorize them by test day, but I am banking on having high PT scores, three good MBE-based essays, and a good MBE score. This seems a more effective use of time than memorizing CA topics. I'll just cram for the CA essays last minute and hash out 50s or so.

I'm not anywhere near a law school or any of my friends who are taking the CA bar and I haven't really been able to run questions/hypos/etc. by any law students, so I just set up a chat room for CA bar takers that might be helpful to keep running in the background to pop in and out of occasionally with questions. I found a site that's pretty simple and no registration or anything like that required. I'll keep it up and going until the bar.

Dude it's just a shitty website -- you can't expect a free chat room host to NOT look spammy. Two of us in there now I'll be sticking around in there for as long as I'm up tonight. Hoping it'll wind up a good place to drop in with random questions or hash out CA-specific subjects in real time.

I see first amendment claims, def content-based, but likely to meet SS. Then we can go into obscenities. Then, pending the wording of the regulation is violates, we can get an overbreadth and vagueness argument going.

Seems legit, but XD @ 135 raw MBE and 60 average essay being "surprising how passable the exam really is"

How badly can I mess up the essay and still get a 60 anyway?

It's not really a great honor. They just post a solid passing essay, not the highest scoring one. They probably just choose at random from essays scoring 70 or 75 or something g
