I passed! Cheers to the passers.

I'm so sorry to those of you who did not pass. I can't begin to imagine what you are going through, but I have failed a lot in life and I encourage you to continue and keep going. You will pass next time. Keep in mind that failing a bar in no way defines one's intelligence...especially the horrid CA bar. I have known tons of exceptionally smart people who did not pass the first time (but who went on to pass the second time and are now successful attorneys). Despite my outcome, this was still one of the toughest experiences I have ever gone through.

No matter what happened, know that you DID survive taking the hardest examination in the country. The majority of people in this world could not sit through the 3 days of the bar we completed.

Passed after getting 92/200 on the barbri midterm. Whoohoo!

I got an 86/200 on the midterm. Yes, you are reading that correctly. I was in the 8th percentile or something super low and embarrassing like that! However, to be fair, I didn't go through my memorization techniques until AFTER the midterm in July (I'm not a good MC test taker so I definitely needed to learn the law first). Further, the time prior to the midterm was mostly spent watching lectures, writing out over a thousand flashcards, practicing essays (open book), and doing only the multiple choice barbri assigned.

I honestly think that I scored pretty low on the July 2013 MBE. I must have done well on the essays, which I attribute to my flashcards (the technique that worked for me throughout undergrad and law school). Use barbri, kaplan, etc., but tailor it to your own routine, as well.

Did anybody else pass the moral character determination already? I did before the exam results came out, which I thought was odd.

Huh? This is completely normal. I passed weeks ago, and friends had passed before even sitting the July test.

FYI for those not "clerking", a notary public can also swear you in or whatever.

I'd wait until December 1 and spend that $200 on a nice dinner.

Does anyone know how this works with the big admission ceremonies? Is there any reason to go to them instead of just going to do it at a local notary's office?

Last night.

6:00 - Realized I don't know my file number.

6:01 - Find my file number. Copy and paste it into the box.

Red type saying I either 1) failed, 2) didn't take it, 3) Incorrectly put in number.

6:02 - Try again. Same results.

Realizing that I failed. Very bad feeling.

6:04 - Decide to try again, this time without copy and pasting. Success; I passed.

What do you make of those bar results? Multiplier for written of 3.6115? in 2012 and 2011 - 2.94 and 2.90. Absolutely epic! You could get away with lower raw scores than ever before. And the 1440 mark on MBE was only 126 raw.

I passed as well, but my Barbri MBE score was in the 99th percentile.

One associate at my firm failed... Do big law firms let you try again or are you out?

What part of California do you live? I passed, live in the Sacramento area and didn't get any mail today. Anybody live in my area and get there letter?

What's the deal with the December thing? Do we just pay for 2014 if we wait til December?

I live in the Bay Area.

Yes, I understood it as we only pay 2014 fees if we get sworn in December (and the $200 for 2013 gets waived).

Got my admission letter, reg. card, etc, on Saturday. I live in the Bay Area.
I know my school puts on an admission ceremony, but does anyone know how the other admission ceremonies go/are that are listed in the admission packet? Do you just kind of show up and do it?

Anybody not from the Bay Area get their letter Saturday or Monday?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
