No. There has been exams in the past ( February) where Buffalo got a nice overnight lake effect snowstorm which caused a lot of travel difficulties. persons who failed to check into the exam room on time were denied entry, and they had to wait until the summer to take the exam. Unless the city shuts down ( it is very rare for it to shut down due to snow) you need to plan accordingly.

and by the way even if the weather center decides to name a snow storm like it does with a hurricane that's not good enough to shut buffalo down.

Oh... I meant imagine NY state wanting to promote local law schools and students so they invest heavily in NYC where those students take the exams. Students there have nice couches while taking the exam, beautiful exam proctors and stuff. They pass the bar easily.
Out of state students have to go to Buffalo, where let's say there is no A/C and people fail because of the terrible conditions.

In any case, the whole thing was meant as a joke.

I agree with the previous poster. Assuming you literally did not study NY law, I would say AUTOPASS is a 166. With a 166 on the MBE and just barely passing the MPT, you can score a 13 on the NYMC and a 37.8 on each of the NY essays. 13 on the NYMC is the (rounded) score you would get by randomly guessing. 37.8 on the essays, if Seperac has his guesstimates right, is -3 standard deviations — much less than the bottom one percent.

Can you expand on the essay grading part of your post? What percentile is a 37.8 on the essays? Not seeing where that is on Separac. I just just find that a 50 is average, though. So that's cool.

I'm basing this on http://seperac.com/calc-raw-scaled.php. 37.8 on the essays, if he's right, is the bottom 0.13%.

eh no worries.. if I took this test on the couch, id have to get 3 days and a half extra time ( to account for the naps). besides the thing about the snow was directed at the weather center for deciding that they had to name the winter storms, and I think only 1 weather center place actually does it.

So.. anyone really putting this to the test? Taking Illinois in exactly 2 weeks. I've barely gone through half of MEE and IEE, I'll do an average job on MPT... but I'm at around an 80% raw on the MBE. So uh.. yeah.

Goddammit DF, that was MY test. Now according to math, 7/9 of my mee and iee will NOT be mbe subjects. Logic ftw

Did it for CA because I knew my MBE score from taking NY and figured the Cal performance test was an IQ test.

Anyone know how many MBE questions you have to get right for an auto pass in a UBE state?

how many MBE questions did people do as practice when pursuing this autopass

at 25 a day from now until I will have done about 360 real MBE questions plus about 850 Barbri MBE questions.

should i up to 35 a day to try to finish all my real MBE questions?

25 a day? That's like what? 45 minutes a day? You gotta do more than that.

Sorry the post wasn't clear at all. I meant 25 real MBE questions, plus whatever Barbri-created questions Barbri assigns. Usually that's a workshop so it ends up being 43 total questions.

Still think I need to do more? or should I just ditch the barbri created questions and go full bore on the real MBEs

I don't think it matters, dude. Absent some real crisis during the test itself, people don't demolish BarBri questions and then get to the real thing and blow it.

i'm at 87/118 on the real practice MBEs, so about 73 percent. on the studysmarts i have two at 80th percentile or above, two at 70th or above then real property at 68 + torts at 57

i know those are above average scores, but I don't think the 160 autopass works for my state so i really need to crush MBE since I have no clue how the essays are going to go

I've only done Kaplan questions, where are you getting real MBE questions? Are you talking about the NCBE questions you get from BarMax and such?

Still very curious for any scoring information about the Massachusetts bar. I've searched through this site and the Mass. bar page and haven't found much beyond that the passing score is 270, and that the scaled MBE gets added to the scaled essay score. Does anyone have any information about the average scaled essay score, or what score is 1-2 standard deviations below the mean? I don't need to hear that any particular scaled MBE score is "autopass," but it'd be great to know where I'd stand with a slightly above-average MBE. Thanks!

I'd imagine they scale the essays to match the MBE. So like a 155 = autopass

I have a question for the numbers-inclined among you.

So, I'm taking Indiana, which is 50% MBE, 20% MPT, and 30% Indiana essays, 264 required to pass. I've noticed that, relative to at least some other states that have a similar breakdown, Indiana's pass rate has frequently been significantly worse, and I was wondering what this might be attributed to. I can't find a lot of detailed information on Indiana's essay scoring system, but I saw something that indicated that it's scaled to the MBE scale (so I think it would be very similar to the info. posted in the OP about Illinois) -- if this is the case, what might explain the consistently worse pass rates in Indiana? Just that Indiana takers suck at the MBE compared to people in other states (Illinois, for example)? Something else?

Random question about the MEE. My Themis practice essays are giving me a word cap of 5,000 characters per essay. Is that in line with everyone else? The model answers are longer than 5,000 characters -- I've counted them up. So I want to make sure I'm not getting prepared to write briefer answers than I'm actually allowed to do on the real thing.

Are you seriously exceeding the 5000 characters in the 20 minutes or so you're supposed to write the essay?
