BarBri Thread: People taking Barbri for July 2013 exam
I figured I'd get a thread going where everyone can ask questions regarding BarBri prep for the July 2013 exam. I just started today by attending the taped lecture. I had a few starter questions:
1) Are people using AMP? I honestly don't find it all that helpful to use prior to learning the actual material. It seems to make more sense to go to the lecture then read your notes then read the CMR Mini Review then do practice MBE questions. Which brings me to my next point...
2) I've heard from past test takers that we should be doing practice MBE questions from day 1. So where are we supposed to get these questions from exactly? After reviewing intentional torts today, I'd like to do some practice MBE intentional torts questions.. where exactly do I find these? I know the Paced program doesn't assign any MBE questions but I'd like to start practicing with them.
Good luck to everyone and let's get some questions and answers going to help each other out.

Re: BarBri Thread: People taking Barbri for July 2013 exam
There are a few other threads on this already, but I'll tag this one because I'm assuming you're doing NY (like i am) and the other threads are
mixed bags of different states and prep companies.
I'm not going to do any MBE questions until we finish torts, so I can just dig into the overall torts questions barbri provides this weekend.
I think Barbri gives more than enough practice questions. I'm not sure where a set of specific intentional torts questions would be.
I like doing the AMP before lectures. I recognize more stuff as "oh I knew that already" because of doing them. However many other people don't like them. (Search function AMP- would link but im posting from my phone)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I saw a lot of random BarBri and AMP threads so I figured this would be a good place for people to ask those kind of questions and condense it all into one thread.

the MPQ1 and MPQ2 books have more MBE questions than you could possibly finish, and they are mostly separated by subject

My mistake, I meant that the Paced Program hasn't assigned any MBE questions so far.Joe Quincy wrote:Yes it does.remz wrote:I know the Paced program doesn't assign any MBE questions but I'd like to start practicing with them..

How did you guys do on the MPQ1 Set 5 Tort and Con Law questions? It was not a pretty picture when I scored my multiple choice. I feel like I would have done just as good if not better if I went with one letter down the page for each of the sets. :-/

23/36 on Torts, and I just started the Con Law one before my laptop power went out, but I was getting fucking destroyed. Like 4/13 so far or something. The actual MBE questions can't be nearly as hard as the Set 5s, right?ehshornet wrote:How did you guys do on the MPQ1 Set 5 Tort and Con Law questions? Franzese is smoking hot, despite the cringe-inducing songs. Discuss.

If you have a smartphone, you can download the lectures with the Barbri app and then use something like iFunBox to copy the lecture to your computer. You can then use VLC to speed the video up.Headybrah wrote:no way to speed up videos on mac this year is there?

I, am, however, appreciating this guy's enthusiastic effort at making this subject matter somewhat tolerable.

37% for me and I feel like I'm slowly starting to fall more and more behind. Looks like we should be at about 39%ish (in CA). Not sure if all states go at the same pace?MoltenWings wrote:What % did everyone complete so far?

So I'm assuming it the paced thing isn't down for others? For the last few hours, when I click on it, it says "A system error has occurred. If the problem continues, please contact BARBRI Technical Support."
Everything else on the site still works.
