Waiting for 1L 2nd semester grades is killing me Forum

This trickling in of one grade a week needs to stop. It feels like someone's peeing on my face.

3 days after the official deadline, a few hours after the actual deadline, and I have 1 of 4 grades.

STOP PEEING ON ME

Did the entire GULC registrar's office die? Are they on sabbatical? wtf...

The delay is outrageous.

Sent the following. Most likely, though, it won't be read until at least the next Summer Olympics.

Dear sir/madam,
I write to request that you post grades as soon as possible. With professors having had to turn in grades by last Friday, your office has had plenty of time to post our first year grades, upon which many of us depend to make subsequent decisions regarding employment options. As you know, EIW is right around the corner. Without our grades, it is difficult to construct a satisfactory bidding strategy, and puts us at a disadvantage when the bidding period begins.

We students make every effort to comply with whatever deadlines are presented to us, including working weekends and nights if necessary. At least with regard to my section, we know for a fact that our professors have submitted grades well before the Friday deadline, and I for one find it mind-boggling that your office has delayed for so long.

Your delay does a great disservice to Georgetown 1L's, for whom the administration and staff purport to devote themselves, and does not inspire the sort of respect that most Georgetown law students, as a matter of general courtesy, are ready to render to everyone in the community.

I am fairly certain that I speak for many of my classmates in expressing my great disappointment, both in the delay, and your office's failure to inform us of extenuating circumstances, if any, for such delay.

Please post our grades, or at least give us some idea when you plan to do so.

Based on what I've heard, I'd expect that the curve was pretty nasty for that (well most) Crim sections. I wouldn't worry about it.

What do you mean?

Crim is comparatively straightforward and it was our first final. People were prepared for it, so I would guess that people generally did well on the whole. I think people burned out by the time we got to property and con law.
