LOL MPRE

Post by romothesavior » Thu Apr 04, 2013 10:32 am

Tell me about it. Sounds easy, yeah? What's the morning at the test center like?

Most importantly, how long is it and can you leave early if you finish early? I have a Saturday tee time to get to.

It is easy. You have some of the same crap as for the LSAT (can't bring in your crap, have to sign in, etc.). But if you're a fast reader it doesn't take long at all, and you can leave if you finish early. I forget how long it's scheduled for, but I think there was over an hour left when I finished and got out of there.

Absolutely. I watched about half the Barbri MPRE lecture and maybe looked at the Model Rules (or my Ethics class notes, I forget) for about an hour, and passed for all jurisdictions. It had been a year and a half since I'd taken Ethics, too (though it was actually a good class and helpful).

We're sure you need about 32-38 out of the 60 total questions, right? That's what everybody said from prior threads. Just checking, because the Barbri lecture video said 32-38 of the 50 testable.

I studied the day before and finished in like 35 minutes. More than passed.

This better be as easy as everyone says because I basically have just watched the Barbri video and followed along with the handout. 5 hours of studying max.

Romo--if it makes you feel any better I only studied for it today as well and I'm taking it in the morning. I did the barbri video and might do some questions before bed here. I really am not feeling to worried about it but we'll see. It seems to me that people that are pretty good a multiple choice tests generally can do well on this without doing too much studying (I have heard most of the people at my school spend 4-6 hours) but if you are not good at multiple choice tests then you may not do so well. Judging by the LSAT scores we see around here I think most of us are pretty good with multiple choice...

I did, however, have a minor freak out session tonight at like 8:00 when I realized that I completely forgot to get my passport photo earlier today. Luckily the walgreens up the street was open...

I did the BarBri video/handout and read over the conviser and did one of the tests on the green book (finished in less than an hour and seemed to do fine if you only need 32-38 to pass). Hopefully that will be enough.

Also, rad, I doubt you really need a gallon bag. Any smaller size ziploc should be fine as long as it holds your pencils, keys, etc. I already set mine up with my keys, pencils, ID, ticket, etc.

Doing the free BarBri video and taking PR better be enough

Some guy got busted for bringing a can into the room when I took it last year. They just made him leave it outside the room. He said he grabbed a pinch when he took a break.

So...no?

Hope I passed, wouldn't be surprised if I didn't. I thought at least a quarter of the questions weren't covered in the Barbri video/handout. Just need an 80 but I feel like I didn't do well at all.

Felt this way after the November test. Had only prepped for about 10 hours total. Scored in the high 130s.

"Only prepped for ten hours total" isn't very consoling since that's more than like everyone ITT but I do hope the feeling like you failed thing is credited. A few of my classmates had similar experiences.

I hadn't taken an ethics class or anything when I took the test though.
