Which one is Better EE or CS if you want to practice IP

Hi All,

I am a civil engineer/1L and I want to be an IP attorney. I can pretty much get a MS in computer science or a BS in Electrical Engineering in a year or two. Which one should I chose? Do I even need to chose or my degree in CE will serve the purpose?

Thank you,

BTW, I hope this is the right forum.

Getting a whole additional degree in EE/CS just for the bump in IP hiring is a very bad decision. If you want to be an IP attorney, civil engineering will do just fine. The most important thing is just being patent bar elegible.

EE/CS would give you a bump when looking for a job later on, but not nearly enough to warrant multiple years getting an additional degree.
