He's Jewish. Which is not meant to be anti-Semitic. Just, he's probably not a legacy admit. Especially when he wrote an article about his family discouraging him from attending for fear of losing his Jewish identity.

The comparison between Princeton and the other Ivy League schools in terms of the % of the student body that is Jewish is incredible. Assuming this kid didn't pull the numbers out of his ass, based on the % of the actual US population that is Jewish, Jews are over-represented by only 600% at Princeton, as compared to more like 1200% at other Ivies. Thank god this thoughtful young man came along to assure everyone that, despite very real concerns to the contrary, Princeton is indeed safe for Jews.laxbrah420 wrote:This guy only writes bad articles.
I might detail them all or not.
Here's the first one he wrote:
"Outdated Stereotypes" (LinkRemoved)
Princeton has the stereotype of being exclusive. But not in the SAT vocab word definition sense. In the diversity sense. When I was contemplating schools to go to, my parents and others were worried about how I might maintain my Jewish identity amongst the homogeneity of Princeton. This stereotype is probably from 1958 which isn't too long ago because 15 of the 23 people who didn't get into an eating club were Jewish. BUT ACTUALLY NOW THAT I'VE BEEN HERE FOR A SEMESTER I'M HAPPY AND I'M NOT A VICTIM OF ANTI-SEMITISM.

Well if "recent memory" goes back somewhere between 15 min and 1 year, then perhaps he is right. Although better does not mean good.Samara wrote:lol, just lolthe room being created for young talent is expanding. There has not been a better time to go to law school in recent memory.
Space in the unemployment line, I suppose.Total jobs are fewer than they were in 2004, but the space for highly qualified lawyers is expanding

Not defending the article's argument, but some of you are getting weirdly obsessive about the author, some random college student writing in a campus newspaper.

To be fair, he's a Holocaust denier and molests children.Bildungsroman wrote:Not defending the article's argument, but some of you are getting weirdly obsessive about the author, some random college student writing in a campus newspaper.

Some anecdotal, anti-Princeton fun, for those interested:
One of my English professors in college was on the hiring committee, and when I told her that I was considering pursuing a PhD at Princeton, she sighed, rolled her eyes, laughed, and went on for five minutes about how everyone they'd ever interviewed from Princeton had been stale and produced boring research. I received similar reactions from other professors when I mentioned Princeton, so maybe this is a thing?
Either way, the writer of this article sucks.
