Minneapolis Housing

Post by francis » Sun Jan 27, 2013 11:14 pm

Moving to Minneapolis at the end of the semester, and I'd like to get a feel for the housing situation. I know nothing about the city. Working in the south/southwest burbs. Most important consideration is $ (loans to pay back, etc.) - I don't need all of the amenities, just a nice, safe place. I'd prefer to be downtown (if such a thing is plausible - again, I have no idea), but wouldn't have a problem if being in the burbs makes the most sense.

For the sake of comparison, I'm familiar with St. Louis and Chicago if that helps anyone.

Really just looking for thoughts on the city in general and what I should pay attention to.

Thanks.
