Good times.

Pubic naming and shaming and fines could have a massive unintended consequence: professors would have an incentive to stop carefully reading the exams and use an impressionistic grading method. That would increase error, both up and down, which is bad for so many reasons.
As it is now, only a professor's conscience keeps him from adopting an impressionistic grading method even without a deadline. But...shame and fines versus conscience...that's a fair fight.

I got my last grade: I Cali'd Torts . I'm so happy. Puts me at a 3.89. Got a long way to go yet if I'm gonna try to keep this up.

I still have yet to get a single grade (except for pass/fail LRW), and our second semester classes started today. Wtf.

Thanks. It feels kinda surreal. I was worried that I'd get a B in it or something. The class I thought I did best in, Contracts, turned out to be my worst. This site is really the shit... it gives very clear advice on how to really own the law school application process, as well as law school itself.

Do I stop responding to you so you'll go away? To I hunt you down with an ax?
You really searched google for these stupid pics? Did you write a draft first? Did you jack off after you hit submit?
You pointed out that I misspelled "impressionistic" in my second-to-last sentence?
Or are you not aware that the word has two definitions?
Is your LSAT score reported in your profile your actual LSAT score? I really need to know this...

Straight C? Not a C+? Everybody has gotta get a C sometime. I know a guy who ended 1L with over a 4.0 GPA and he got a C in one class second semester...indigomachine wrote:C in Civ Pro.

How bad did you think it was gonna be? How were your predictions on your other exams?
Keep it in perspective...a C at NYU Law isn't gonna tank you...part of the benefit of going to NYU Law.
It's literally just one class. Not to say you shouldn't feel horrible--of course you should. But you still have tons of options in front of you, so don't let it affect your second semester performance.
Do you have a sense of what the problem was? Can you fix it for your second semester?

I googled to see if I could find any other definition of impressionist. I just checked again and I am wrong about impressionistic, and I apologize. What you wrote does actually does make sense (but in all fairness, you have a history of misusing terms).manofjustice wrote:DingBat, wherever I go, there you follow. I don't need an apology. I don't care. But I'll accept it anyway. Just stop nitpicking. It's not cool. And you're making InGoodFaith and many others upset.

So I've learned that 2 out of my 3 grades are up. Should I check, or just wait until the last grade becomes available?

I'd wait unless you know your professor is a notoriously slow grader. If I had more self control, I'd have liked to have all three of my grades before checking.dingbat wrote:So I've learned that 2 out of my 3 grades are up. Should I check, or just wait until the last grade becomes available?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
