Bro, I've done about ~150 short answer hypos. My legal analysis has shot through the roof. It has helped me in every possible way.
Where are you getting these hypos man? E&E?

I have done a shit ton of hypos as well, and I think he is probably getting them from E&E, Crunchtime, and/or Q&A which is where I have received mine from and I have done around 130.

Also, does anyone else feel like we are preparing for the championship game?? I am so fucking pumped it feels like it is the summer before the football season and I am grinding hard as hell for that first game.

Lets go team! Lets take this fucking championship.

I used the Crunchtime series. It gives hypos by headings, so it's helpful.

Then I have Q&A for multiple choice.

How is the Crunchtime series? I've only been working on E&E hypos and older exams so far

Each heading has about 10-15 hypos. So offer and acceptance, consideration, etc., all have a good number of hypos.

There is not a lot of counter-analysis, but it helps me pre-write answers, memorize the law, and quickly issue spot. After I finished the criminal law Crunchtime, I was easily able to issue spot major and minor issues in my criminal professor's dense old exams because there can be only so many variations of a situation.

Furthermore, my attack outlines are fucking baller cause I condensed everything nicely.

After I finish all the Crunchtimes, I'm just going to do all multiple choices in the Q&A series. Go through the ~500 future estates problems. Then 4-6 exams per class.

Profit, baby.

What course is coming together more than any other for you guys? For me it's Contracts, I'm getting a pretty good handle on everything for this class. Torts is really getting there, but it's my last final so I have more time on that one. Civ Pro is coming, but I'm trying to get my joinder of claims and parties down more. Something about that bothers me more than any other area of Civ Pro.

I think torts is my strongest course. I feel confident in Conlaw and Contracts as well. I'm weakest in Civ Pro. At my school Civ Pro I is basically just FRCP + Twombly + Mathews. So it's not too bad.

Civ.Pro. (my professor is outstanding and makes it magical) >
Contracts (challenging but I can conquer it with dedication) >
Torts (no intentional torts makes this a hardcore issue-spotter) >
Leg.Reg. (an awful and unnecessary class made worse by a bad professor... Thank Zeus for my PSC background).

The order I understand them is also the order I've enjoyed them. Go figure. Lol

Contracts >> Torts > Civ pro > Crim.

Why crim at the bottom? Our prof is really unconventional, does not release old exams, so there is a dearth of practice material available.

I have a feeling we have the same crim professor. Does your professors drink of the day mean anything to you? lol

Does anyone have a quick summary of how LEEWS suggests going about writing exams?

Probably just down to my professors styles, but definitely contracts the most for me, and torts the least. My contracts professor is very... open ended. He teaches us the basic rules and our classes are all about hypos to figure out why they would have chosen that rule (so looking at the opposite and w/e). And so his exams have tons of issues and you're not really expected to go into tons of depth of any one in particular. Meanwhile, my torts professor actually cares about spelling and grammar. I've heard that she can tell what grade she'll give an exam after reading the first paragraph (based on your prose, I guess). Civ pro is moderate for me since I understand the basics pretty well but I can't really get into that deeper level of analysis (well I can't with torts either, yet) to get all the points my professor offers.

I don't think I have the best handle on LEEWS so feel free to chip in, but this is what I think:

1) Identify conflict pairs - who against whom, what does each side want
-this is usually pretty quick, check out the call of the question, that should be able to guide you.
-Sometimes there are hidden ones in the question itself, but it depends on your prof's style, if they are the "hide the ball type"

2) Identify relevant premises (i.e. the Issues, the laws) for each side
-take it piecemeal: find an issue, connect with the relevant facts, tease it out. Rinse and repeat

3) Identify the real issues
-dont spend too much time analyzing issues that are obvious, get to the real issues

I took LEEWS then re-read the book. I have a good handle on it, but it is far too much to explain on a forum. If you want, you can PM me your e-mail or GMail Chat.

Can't... stop... won't... stop...

I feel even if I put in a fucking solid 12-14 hours, I still did not do all I wanted. Mother fucker.
