I wouldn't spend too much time addressing something if it is a non-issue. For crim I would just say something like "because D told the decedent he was going to kill him and fired the gun, a court will find that D acted with the intent to kill satisfying the requisite mens rea for murder." You can also throw in a counterargument and quickly dismiss it.JamMasterJ wrote:when you guys are going through an issue, do you say: he did x, which meets the act requirement, he said y, which indicates mens rea, and there's z, which = whatever other element?
I kinda blew by the obvious issues last semester and it cost me - how do I fix that?

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
I think if you're above a certain threshold, you're either saving time by never having to look at your OL, or you're saving time by remembering how you analyzed a similar issue in a PT (assuming your prof goes through similar elements most of the time (my crim prof basically repeats the same general fact pattern every year).Robert Paulson wrote:I've been time pressured in exams before, but I always had time to address all the issues. I know the stuff well enough that I only need to reference my outline to remember a case name here and there, so I was wondering if writing answers mechanically would save more time or not having to ever look at my outline.Danger Zone wrote:Have you done one before? People in this thread seem to be militant practice test takers, but after you've done an exam like this before, I don't think it helps too much.Robert Paulson wrote:For a racehorse exam, is it more credited to do a ton of hypos or just memorize and know the info cold?

DONE. Feels so good. Good luck to the rest of the grinders and congrats to those who are done. Waiting for these grades will be agonizing -- I felt like I could've bombed every test. I'll see ya'll in the grades waiting thread

I did absolutely nothing to prepare and felt like it went fine. Just remember that there's a rule for everything, look the type of source up in the index, then copy it straight from the book.Geaux12 wrote:How am I supposed to prepare for the bluebook portion of this bitch?Nelson wrote:Writing competition is the dumbest shit ever.

Do we go to the same school? Because I'm pretty sure I may have as well lmao. 6.5 pages, two issue spotters, one hour to do it with two other sections. Literally came out of the test lolling because the alternative was dying. That's done.Pleasye wrote:I'm pretty sure I failed property today.

Hahaha sounds like we don't. Ours was 2 hours of multiple choice and 1 hour of essay and it was just a disaster. I came out of mine wanting to cry.hyakku wrote:Do we go to the same school? If I hadn't taken the hardest test ever on Monday, the test today would have made me ragequit. I was MAF when that "weakness" question came up. That case sucks.hyakku wrote:Do we go to the same school? Because I'm pretty sure I may have as well lmao. 6.5 pages, two issue spotters, one hour to do it with two other sections.
