Think it's too late in the semester to ask about this?InGoodFaith wrote:I met with my professors and they weren't annoyed at all about it. They seem to genuinely enjoy giving advice, even if you did well. When I walked into my professor's office, I asked "what made my exam do so well? I didn't feel great about it." She laughed and said "never heard that before." But then we talked about my exam for a solid fifteen minutes. It was really insightful.
I don't think so. I met with my 'B' class professor in late January. One of my 'A' class professors said not to see him until March, since he was prioritizing students who did worse on the exam in his schedule.
I actually think that's better for me, since I got a bit of exam prep guidance at the beginning of the term, and I'll get another dose near the middle.

Same, aside from the interrogations / cold calls. My professor is a beast, though, and we average around 50 pages per week, which isn't bad at all.brotherdarkness wrote:Overall, I actually enjoy conlaw. The reading is dense, but quite interesting.

yeah it's definitely interesting stuff, but it just takes me awhile to get through some of the cases. my prof goes hard on the details so i make a bunch of notes in the margins

the irritating part is the details probably don't matter at all come exam time.

This / 10. Yet people stare at me when I say I don't pay much attention to or brief case facts. Priority principle > cold calling.brotherdarkness wrote:Based on my experience last semester, all that matters is that I know the BLL and, come test day, am able to apply that BLL to a specific fact pattern. my ktts professor actually cared about the nitty gritty details of the cases and there were 6 short answer questions on case facts. this is the EXTREME aberration and you'll hear about it well in advance.MauriceGains wrote:This / 10. Since the logic is so sloppy in that case, it's lulzy to read.BuckinghamB wrote:Reading the ACA for tomorrow's conlaw class. Holy shit that thing is long.
Regarding going over exams with professors, mine were all happy to meet with me but they all provided super general statements about what I did well and poorly on. It was super fucking annoying. "This didn't flow well." "Your organization was scattered." "Your reasoning here was good. It was really tight."
One professor even told me that my exam seemed like I copied from my outline and applied it to the case. I was like, "Isn't that what you're supposed to do?"

We got lucky when we read the ACA case. We used a edited copy that got it down to about 25-30 pages. Just enough to see Roberts try to make sense, Ginsburg flip out on Robert, but say that they were cool at the end, and to see Thomas' same paragraph for dissent since the beginning of time when it comes to the commerce clause.

The dissent's discussion of the taxing power is pretty lulzy:
Congress said "penalty." LOOK NO FURTHER GUYS.
