it's very issue / subject matter specific. just make sure you keep the separate doctrines in the appropriate issue area and it's pretty standard. the key is realizing how doctrines are now and how they morph.

yea i feel like its a pretty different class in terms of exam taking. property and crim seem pretty analogous to torts/ktts. i am just trying to wrap my head around how I want to approach con law.mephistopheles wrote:stillwater wrote:glad im not hte only one. don't even know how to synthesize the material for an exam though. i feel like i just know a bunch of weird disconnected facts and historical tidbits.mephistopheles wrote:stillwater wrote:anyone else think Con Law is as lulzy as I do?

For con law, do we need to know the historical stuff, or just current law? For example, the court changed its mind like 4 times about how to apply to tenth amendment.....glad im not hte only one. don't even know how to synthesize the material for an exam though. i feel like i just know a bunch of weird disconnected facts and historical tidbits.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
Haven't posted in this thread since before spring break, I think.
Did a LOT of outlining over the last ~2 weeks though. Basically all of mine (except crim... woops) are up to where we are in class, and I'm hopefully going to start taking some practice tests later this week. 1 month until my first final. Can't wait to get it over with haha.
Also, anyone have a good chart/outline/whatever to describe the differences in murder between the CL and MPC? Its mostly the manslaughter stuff that confuses me, though my crim final is all MC and the questions are just crazy so I have no idea how to even approach studying.

My professor is going really in depth on a few specific topics (spent like a month on equal protection, like 3 weeks on presidential war powers, like 3 weeks on the commerce clause, etc.) and tbh I think we could have learned all of them in half that much time... Maybe thats just normal for con law, though?stillwater wrote:anyone else think Con Law is as lulzy as I do?

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
CSWS starts for me today... Figured 5 weeks of solid prep 12 hour days is more then enough. Last semester I did basically 8 weeks, but by the end found myself burnt out, slipping into bad habits, and running out of good testable material. Lets hope that this strategy works better for me.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
Haha similar to how I feel. I've been skimping on a lot of the reading and mostly reading briefs. I feel like outlining this semester is going MUCH quicker than last semester, even though I have to outline 4 classes instead of 3, but maybe thats just me. I do have to go back over some areas with my supplements though, since I was confused and just skipped some material (while last semester, I pretty much always went in order and didn't go back to fill in many areas later).Jsa725 wrote:I can relate; however, I try to remind myself that is pointless to compare last semester to now because I wasted time doing so many pointless things... Everything I have done, even though it seems ubber slacker compared to last semester, has been preparation for April. CSWS.
(convincing myself the above statement is true)
(praying that I really didn't slack and I am just more efficient this semester)

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
Does anyone have a good chart or list that briefly describes all of the various forms of easements, covenants, licenses and whatever else is covered in this area? I'm getting super confused with all of the different terms.

Starting to feel like any good grades last semester were the result of a fluke.
One month till the end of classes, only 2/4 outlines up to date.
Time let the panic flow through me.

Me too. But for me, it's because my brief has eaten my life these past few days.
Boy I'll be glad to get back to property.
