You can't add an outside job in the 3L workload pile. Law Review maybe, but who told your gunner ass to take a board position.the lantern wrote:I don't get how 3L year is supposed to be so easy. My classes are easy, yes, but I am working a ton, doing shitloads of work for law review, etc. I mean I guess if you weren't doing anything in the rest of law school, your 3L year would be pretty easy, but I imagine 1L/2L year weren't so bad either.

I'm busy as hell, but not from classes, more from things I am doing by choice. Mock Trial, Clinic, Job + classes = Feels like 1L - caring about grades.

Tomorrow is the third week of class. I've been to two days of school. And I have zero books.

I thought the attendance policy was ABA mandated, or is it that schools can just say you were there the entire time cause they dont care about attendance? My school has an attendance policy that I try to max out every semester, but still, wish I could skip more.

I'd say I am doing a decent amoun of stuff this year... moot court, law review, working at a firm part-time, etc. But that doesn't stop me from going out 3-4 nights a week, ignoring every word the professors in my classes are saying, and playing hours of Call of Duty every day.Stanford4Me wrote:This thread is for people who chose not to do stuff their 3L year. Only TTTs follow rule. Do you honestly think the ABA would unaccredit northwestern law?BarbellDreams wrote:I thought the attendance policy was ABA mandated, or is it that schools can just say you were there the entire time cause they dont care about attendance? I'm at 3LOL in a town where some bars stay open until 5am daily. I should leave a credit card open at each of them, just for the convenience of having a permanently open tab at all of them.

Michigan claims to have an attendance policy too, but that's just another indicator that it's a festering TTT in decline. (And they also don't actively take attendance, so yeah)Desert Fox wrote:Only TTTs follow rule. I'd bet all schools have a policy: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/current ... icies.html Not enforcing it is the difference from a TTT.keg411 wrote:Michigan claims to have an attendance policy too, but that's just another indicator that it's a festering TTT in decline. I can't stop caring about things I'm concerned. I've been at the lib til midnight every weekday and last week. Sending out over 200 firm/clerkship apps will do that I guess...

I feel like I have to force myself to class this semester. I rarely even do the reading. Anyone else having serious motivational issues this year?

yes. and it's kind of giving me some anxiety.slider wrote:I feel like I have to force myself to class this semester. I rarely even do the reading. Anyone else having serious motivational issues this year?
i'm skipping a class today because i hate it. not doing my reading for the other two. and i don't think that's going to hurt me with my grades. and even if it does, all i have to do is pass. so...
i just hate school. totally over it. and i'm spending way too much time drinking/traveling/watching sports and stuff... and i think that's probably more important now since after graduation it's gonna be workworkwork all day every day. forever.

Last week, I went to a class I hadn't been to in a day or two and found out I was on call. I gleefully started making stuff up until I pulled up the old outline I had to navigate the on-call.

Crushed it, asked an insightful follow-up question, and will now slink back into obscurity for the final 2 months of the year.KeepitKind wrote:romothesavior wrote:On call in an hour. I'm going on vacation (first time in years, rock on!) right before finals start. I can't decide if that will help or hurt.
