Good luck with OSU! I didn't try to negotiate, either. I'm here permanently and didn't want to pretend a transfer to Akron. Maybe next year after the next 9.5% bump. The incoming class received a huge bump in scholarship numbers according to law school numbers.

A lot of 1Ls are posting questions about study strategy already, so I thought I'd give this thread a bump. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Just to be a troll without adding much content:

My Guige to Top 10% at a T14 (and Probably All Schools)

None of the things mentioned in this thread are necessary or sufficient to doing well in Law School. Ask the upperclassmen in your school what it takes to do well in a class. Ask what professor's exams are like. Don't be shy to ask an upperclassman what they got in the class that they just gave you advice about. Those who got A's wont be shy about sharing. Those who got shit grades..... well you don't want their advice anyway since you're trying to avoid their outcome.

So tailor your strategies and studies to your school and your professor.

I love when people say to only talk to people who got A's in my class. How would you even find that out?

Start with the people on law review. If they haven't had your class, they probably know someone who did well. Or ask your professor.

I must have missed the part where people said talk to someone who aced the class. I have been wondering is it appropriate to email last year's CALI award winner who had the same teacher/class as the one you are in? I would really love to pick the person's brain. However, I do not know the edict on this.

Thanks!

Just figure out who the person is and mysteriously bump into them sometime. Chances are they will be involved in something or another if they got that high a grade. I don't think just emailing someone like that would be a good idea. I don't know how helpful I would be if some random person I didn't know emailed me like that.
