Stop bragging. Though by your initial logic I hold all subjects in VERY high regards. If you did well in Ks, in going to go ahead and take full credit. YOU'RE WELCOME.Stringer6 wrote:Shockingly, my legal writing grade is similar to all my other grades.Bildungsroman wrote:Is this a claim you're making, or are you accusing people in this thread of this? Re: 1L Spring Grades Waiting Room
Apparently, two semesters have disclosed a very direct correlation between time spent studying and grades. I did ok (top quarter at UT), but Law Review is now officially out of the question, and employment prospects are now a huge question mark. I was hoping to improve from last semester but did about the same/slightly worse with 2 grades outstanding.
I have concluded: I am simply a slow learner. It takes me the entire semester to grasp some concepts that classmates who do about the same or worse "get" immediately after the class that covers it.
I am an example of how slow people can do ok with the right techniques covered on this site! But this is not any consolation to me trying to go through OCI now.

Re: 1L Spring Grades Waiting Room
Grades came in. Did very similar to last semester, though my cumulative dipped .015. Still on the right side of the median, though, so I'm happy.
For prediction purposes, my classes ended up as:
Crim > Torts > Conlaw

My prediction for this quarter:
CivPro > Contracts > Property > LRW
Elective already came in (one week after taking it, the afternoon after our last final).

Ended up: LRW, Crim, 14th Amendment > Con Law >>1st Amendment
Edit: I think first semester my prediction was Property>LRW>Contracts>Civ Pro>Torts

I didn't post any predictions because I didn't want to jinx myself. Maybe I should have and my grades would've been better. My expectations weren't too far off though. The only grade I really thought I'd get that I ended up getting was con law.
I expected: Crim/Ks>Con Law>Immigration
I had: Ks>>Con law/Crim>Immigration

Re: 1L Spring Grades Waiting Room
Both semesters I had one that I generally did not feel great about and that was my worst and I had one each semester that I did not feel great about that ended up being my best grade both semesters. Predicting law school exam grades is tough.ilovesf wrote:I didn't post any predictions because I didn't want to jinx myself. Maybe I should have and my grades would've been better. We finished our last exam 48 hours ago and I still check the grades website several times a day. I need to spend some time away from the computer.

Re: 1L Spring Grades Waiting Room
Apparently the journals at my school are faster at reviewing writing competition than the profs are at grading exams.
One journal is already extending invites 3.5 weeks after the writing competition. Whereas one of my professors took well over 5 weeks.

Re: 1L Spring Grades Waiting Room
Got my first C (C+ in biz orgs). On the plus side, I pulled off an A- in property after not knowing what the fuck was going on the entire semester, and an A- in con law, which was one of the most abstract subjects I've ever tried my hand at. This was also after an acute health meltdown that made me miss the last two weeks of school. 3.3 semester, 3.4 overall. I'm happy.

Hoping I don't lose my class ranking after this semester's grades come out!
Update: I ended up keeping my class ranking (by the skin of my teeth) and was pretty accurate with my grade predictions -- I ended up with civ pro & law skills > property > con & crim. Thought I would do better in con law, but thrilled that I did better than anticipated in crim. GPA went down from last semester but it's still high enough to allow me to officially transfer to USC. Pretty thrilled!

Ended up weird: Civ Prop>Property=LS=Con>Crim. I went down slightly but I am still competitive to transfer. If I only got 1 grade higher I would of stayed in the top 10%
