Haha congrats bro. I'm kind of pissed that they didn't give A+ for Prop too. I'm glad they finally put up the rest of the awards though!

award for best exam in a class. a lot of schools call them CALI awards. not sure what the etymology of "booked" is.

A friend told me that professors used to give the top student a new copy of the casebook with something written inside of it. Not sure if that's true, but would explain "booking."

Congrats on booking two classes. I only booked one

+1.

However, admitting to books awards one can infer that the person probably does not go to a very elite school (I only think S does book awards in the T13?). So, being number one versus like number five in the class at a TTT or TTTT could make a huge difference for transferring, so I can kind of understand where he could be coming from.

LOL. In that case I have no sympathy for his fifth in the class or whatever versus first in the class whining.

HLS gives "book prizes" but doesn't call them that. Although there is usually a couple per class I think, not sure if other schools limit it to the top person in that class.

A DS? Not a book prize. Can't they give out like 5 percent? My reference was specifically to schools who call the top honor a "book price." At Duke, at most five percent of the class can receive an A+ (4.1-4.3). However, the professor does not need to give out any A+s and the person who receives the highest grade in the class doesn't receive a "book prize," their accomplishment is simply recognized by the professor through either an e-mail or a phone call.

at UT we call it a Dean's Achievement Award. It's just a piece of paper.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
