What would you guys recommend?
NY and LA, imo.

Grades slowly trickling in... so far, B+s in the two classes I felt most confident about. Shit. I might need to start drinking heavily.

I know the feeling. I recommend at least 2 pints of ben & jerry's, a bag of chocolate chips, and a bottle of scotch.

I am seriously eyeing the already open bottle of Grey Goose in my mother in law's fridge. I've watched my GPA fall from top 25% to just barely top 40% with each grade posted.

It doesn't help that she keeps rolling her eyes at me and telling me I need to calm down and I'm overreacting. I cannot make her understand that the next five years of my life depend on the grades I get in the next half an hour. !@#$

You should budget your alcohol. Grey goose is too expensive, especially considering the imminent unemployment.

My GPA went up some but I got a C+ in one class. Will that hurt my chances at OCI or will the overall GPA be looked at more than just one really bad grade?

I'd imagine your overall GPA going up would be beneficial, but be prepared to answer questions about the C+.

It's not mine. Free booze is the best kind.

Aside from the stickies detailing OCI I think people generally make a thread for themselves or their schools. OCI is too different at different schools for one megathread to have much value. You're a GULC transfer, right? Might be value in creating an OCI thread for GULC or GULC transfers.

Sorry :(. Just outside top 10% is not a bad place to be though.

I got my exact position like x out of 400 and then they give you the cut offs like 15, 20, 25 etc

Yeah it's pretty huge. Theyre cutting it by 20% (a whole section) next year.

Sf, I'm sorry, that sucks. I still think you will do well at OCI. I think our top 15% cutoff is slightly lower this year, actually.

Finished top 15.4% at a T30 school...I'm incredibly pumped, I wasn't expecting to do quite this well. But does anyone know how strict firms are about their cutoffs typically? I've noticed a few OCIs that are already posted have a top 15% cutoff....they won't be so strict to exclude me, will they?

Is your OCI preselect or lottery?

Also, congrats!

Thanks. Preselect.
