Worth a shot as I imagine a lot of DC practitioners took the NY bar . . .

If you are bringing in the NY Bar and MPRE for DC practice, does NY's lenient MPRE rule apply (you only have to pass the MPRE within 3 years of practice/passing the bar or something like that), or does DC require you to pass the MPRE before the bar?

You need it before you can be admitted.

You need to pass the MPRE with a score of 75 before you are admitted, and you must submit proof of your score within 1 year of administration of the exam.

Edit: Yeah, missed the post above me.

Also, you need to pass the MPRE before you can practice law in NY, you just need to have taken the MPRE within three years of taking the NY bar exam (I may have misunderstood what you were asking): http://www.nybarexam.org/TheBar/TheBar.htm#MPRE

Ah perfect thanks for the responses. I'm not worried about hitting a 75, so that's a load off.
