Copy with reference Westlaw Next
when you copy and paste stuff on west law next it can automatically provide the citation for you. usually you have to tweak it a little bit. I have to cite NY cases like I'm in NY (i.e. no regional reporter should be used... I think...). Does anyone know if the "New York" option on the "cite with reference" is usually correct?

It usually isn't. Just remember that if you are citing to an Appellate Division case you need to show what department you are in. i.e., X v. Y 2 A.D.2d 33 (1st Dep't YYYY). If it's a Supreme Court case you need to show the county, and year. If it's Court of Appeals, all you need is the year in the parenthesis (the 123 N.Y.2d 123 citation should give away it's the CoA).
