Approximate class rank?
About what percentile/rank will a 3.888 GPA net you on a curve with a 3.3 median?

I don't have another data point, since I'm not going to talk to anyone about their grades. So, anyone with a comparable GPA that could guestimate for me would be very much appreciated.

4.0 or 4.33 system?
And you could always use the thread referenced above and assume that rank 1 is near the highest possible grade. In my 4.33 system, I assumed the highest GPA was a 4.2.

We have a 4.3 system and a 3.3 median. Do you think that's accurate for the top grade? I heard that teachers rarely give out A+'s.3|ink wrote:4.0 or 4.33 system?

Find the historical cutoffs for honors or something. Without more it's all guesswork. People can't translate their own experiences onto yours unless they have the same curve (and just because 4.3 is the max and 3.3 is the mean, does not mean the rest of the curve characteristics are the same as a school sharing the same max and mean).

I was being super conservative with that estimate. It's probably better to guess 4.0.apl6783 wrote:We have a 4.3 system and a 3.3 median. Do you think that's accurate for the top grade? I heard that teachers rarely give out A+'s.3|ink wrote:4.0 or 4.33 system?

Yeah I was just curious. Everyone I've spoken with about GPA says they've never heard of a 4.3 system.dailygrind wrote:Find the historical cutoffs for honors or something.
