Not planning on clerking. Still take Fed Courts?

Post by Julio_El_Chavo » Wed Jan 18, 2012 5:24 pm

I plan on doing IP lit at a biglaw firm after graduation. Fed Courts fits into my schedule nicely and I've heard that it's useful background information for litigators. Should I take it? FWIW: 3L, T10, top 25%

If you're going to do lit, you should take fed courts. It'll be more relevant to your practice than any of your 1L classes other than civ pro.

You can learn anything you need in practice in probably 1/100th the amount of time as you would spend on a law school course. Take easy, relaxing, attendance-optional courses in law school.

I would take something else. Fed Courts can be a bear depending on the professor and it is hard to get a good grade.

Take something else to get your GPA up.
