Sh*t Gunners Say

Post by babazina » Fri Jan 13, 2012 7:47 pm

What are the dumbest, most nonsensical comments gunners in your class have made?

1. The course
2. The question posed by the professor (if applicable)
3. The comment made
4. The class reaction

I dunno. I bet some people have pretty funny stories about what crazy gunners have said in class.

1. Crim
2. Discussing time required for thought in premeditation and deliberation
3. "In my research, before law school, I found that it only takes nano-seconds to form a thought. My research would show that premeditation and deliberation can be instantaneous."
4. Collect head banging on desks

I did do the research moron. Just because you didn't accomplish anything before law school doesn't make my projects any less insightful. There was no collective head banging, infact the professor agreed with during office hours when we discussed my research.

Why do I have a feeling that gunners are the type of people who tend to read everything about their professor, raise their hand in class, and spend their time on law forums such as this one or above the law.

1. It wasn't a course. It was actually at a bar review after the first week of classes last semester.
2. N/A the conversation was about our section and why we liked it. Many were talking about how cool and supportive everyone seemed.
3. "I'm glad I'm in section 2 because I heard a lot of people got in off of the waitlist from admissions and it is going to make it so much easier for me to compete for the top spots."
4. Three of us in the conversation were waitlisters. Everyone kind of just looked around in shock. He then told us his LSAT score unsolicited. The story has been widely spread since then and his behavior has not improved much.

1. Civ pro review Q&A with the prof
2. "Any questions about writing the exam?"
3. "Um, yes, professor, do we need to use Bluebook format when citing cases?"
4. Are you fucking kidding me

Hope that sweet LSAT score and ego help him out when he's actually practicing...

We don't go to the same school, but apparently my gunner also goes to your school... also in the same crim law course.

I was tempted to make a "where do we draw the line" comment the other day. But I just end up saying slippery slope. Gunner?

1. Crim
2. Question involved why, if we singled out muslims after 9/11, we didn't single out white mid-western christians after Oklahoma City
3. Raised hand, said "I'll field this one," and started to explain that OK City was not motivated by religion (including the classic, "wait, wait, I did a research paper on this in UG")
4. While prof handed his ass to him in a discussion on the Turner Diaries, most of the rest of just looked down and shook our heads.

1. Contracts

2. Another kid was trying to say something about some topic, not sure exactly the details.

3. Gunner hops in and says: "I think what Another Kid was trying to say, but JUST COULDN'T ARTICULATE GOOD ENOUGH, was that blah blah blah (something that sounded pretty articulate)."

4. In Gunner's defense, I think Gunner has a kind heart and didn't realize how Gunnerish the statement came across.

We had a guy gunning in a non-mandatory career services presentation on interviewing tips. He doesn't know when to turn it off.

We had someone do the same at our school. But he dropped out before fall exams.
