Why some of you think this is an even remotely accurate poll is beyond me.

I don't know why people would lie in an anonymous poll.

The polling here is definitely odd. In an earlier poll, “predict where you will place,” the outcome looked reasonable.

Top 10 • 14% > (42% here)
Top 20 • 10% > (16% here)
Top Third • 22% > (7% here)
Median • 23% > (3% here)
Below Median • 27% > (29% here)

The earlier prediction was that 24% thought they would place in the top 20. . . versus 58% here . . . what is up with that? EZ exams, prayer, or . . .

Most people come out of an exam thinking they've failed. If you've read anything on the grade waiting thread, you'd see there is little correlation between how you thought you performed and your actual grade.

My prediction was way off, but I did better than predicted. I'm cool with being wrong.

In checking other threads relating to grades, I have not seen anything remotely suggesting scores resulting in a top 10 ranking, much less top 5. Most of what I have seen are a few A grades, an abundance of A-, B+, B and a few B- (and a rare A+). I assume someone with an A, A-, B+, B would be slightly above median.

School-dependent bro.

ETA: not everybody has posted their grades.

Yeah buddy. This "I failed" phenomena is apparently fairly common. I spoke to one of the professors I'm more friendly with and he essentially told me that if a fact pattern looks too complex to possibly talk about everything and you write a lot but know there's more there, you probably did well because you realized just how complex the question was and the depth of each issue. I know I thought I failed every exam and was pleasantly surprised come grade release. In talking to another member of my study group who did well, he had the same thoughts towards his A tests.
