What armor will you wear when you check your grades? Forum

I'm planning on downing at least 2 bottles of wine before I find the courage to log in. The question is, will alcohol make me weep more bitterly/loudly/heart-achingly, besides making my fingers too uncoordinated to type, with the added risk of retching on my keyboard...or will alcohol be comforting steel armor?

What are your strategies?

We don't have a set date for grades to be released, just gotta keep checking. So either I go in unprepared, or down a bottle every hour as I check. Will probably be like the dude in my avatar.

This has come up in the past, but it bears repeating: do not check your grades while in class, or at school. I always did so in private, at home, and was glad I did. I know many others who did the same. The reason is simple: if you do well, you will not be able to resist the urge to show it; if you do poorly, the same will be true. This makes for much awkwardness when around other 1Ls, as inevitably one or more of them will have had an outcome opposite yours.

More specifically, but still covered above: do not check your grades on a phone in a bar full of classmates doing the same thing.

I remember I hosted a pregame second semester 1L, tons of people there, and people were lining up to use my computer to check the last grade that had posted that night. Awkward.
