Post Exam Predictions

Postby Dale » Fri Dec 23, 2011 11:47 pm

Now that the tests are over, you must have a gut feeling on where you might place. I know the dreaded curve makes it difficult, but, give it your best shot!

Not sure whether the outcome will have me saying ― Why yes, thank you for the Law Review invitation. . .or . .before you pull around to the next window would you like fries with your order?

Median mostly, maybe slightly below in torts and slightly above in LRW.

At this early stage nice to see 42% are feeling good about bettering median or less.

During the holidays I am going to convince myself that I will be in the top 20% of the class. It will make for good cheer. Plus, I have a 20% chance to being right!

Ugh I hope like 20%? I walked out of every exam feeling great. And I studied my ass off. And did a ton of prep/followed TLS success threads/etc. But I have no idea, honestly.

I will ditto 20%. Except for torts (our practice tests and the real test were from different planets) I thought I nailed the other three. Problem is my classmates also thought the exams were not overwhelming. Darn. Hopefully my 20% includes a little sandbagging. . . hopefully.

I said down the rabbit hole. Significant portions of my studying (particularly for contracts) involved watching Arrested Development re-runs.

same here. I learned more about contractual obligations from AR than I did from the reading.

46% think they will rank in the top third of their class. This must be the poll for all the really smart TLS exam takers!

The poll results ^ form a bell curve. Nice that our expectations are not out of whack.

Top 10% was the day one plan, but today I am more inclined to hope top third. Reality can be so unfair!

I wouldn't be overwhelming surprised if TLS-readers tended to grade higher on average.

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if they graded lower. Y'all are a bunch of asshats.

Even though +50 votes have been added since the first couple days, everything seems to be pretty much the same. 46% in the top third. 70% median or better. In real world mathematical terms, I do not know what percentage would fall under median.

I'm starting to feel convinced that I'll get Bs or Cs in everything - I'm going to hate myself so much in a couple of weeks. It's going to suck.

No, 50% of people voting would not necessarily have to fall below median, and it doesn't matter if 46% of us think they will be in the top 1/3, because we aren't in the same class.

We could all be in the top 10%, depending on how many of us answer from how many schools with how many students. WE aren't a class. There's nothing illogical in 46% of us thinking we might be in the top 1/3 of our respective classes, all of which contain lots of students who aren't answering this poll, and which do not contain most (if any) of the other students answering the poll.

it sucks even more when you try to plan out a better semester knowing full well the last time you planned it bad grades resulted. Might be a good idea for me to plan out the next semester before grades come out, in case they are all horrible.
