Is there a filled out copy of the MPRE outline floating around somewhere? I watched the video thinking that I wouldn't need to fill in the blanks and now I am majorly regretting that decision.

edit: I am talking about the Barbri outline

FWIW I didn't end up passing the first time. I took it again in March. I passed, but I only got 117 after studying really hard, which is a little sad.

How much did you study for the first time? I inexplicably went from 50/60 on the first practice test I took on Tuesday to 40/60 on the practice test I took yesterday. These are the BarBri practice tests, which I am hoping are harder than the real one. In 95% of the problems, I recognize the issue and know the rule that should be applied, but that is not enough to get it right....you need to know the details of the rules, and sometimes you need to have some outside legal knowledge as well.

As far as taking twice, though, your firm didn't care, right?

That's because lofty ethics isn't intuitive to you. Wasn't intuitive to me either.

There might be issues if your licensure gets delayed.

What is this, people actually failed the MPRE?

Damn it, I'm taking it tomorrow and I have not done any reading or preparation yet.

Time to get started...

I forgot to start studying until two and a half days before the test, and ended up scoring well above the minimum.

I'm gonna lay some truth down on you. Unless you're 100% sure there's some weird exception involved (judge, model law, family law, criminal defendant), just get the answer requiring the broadest disclosure. Also, the more sympathetic the facts are, the more likely the right answer seems like the morally incorrect thing to do (e.g., lawyer finds out client molested daughter, can't lie to client then call CPS even to prevent harm to child/ something helps an oil company to the detriment of native indians or whatever). Doing the above pretty much guarantees a passing score.

Took two practice tests, got a 39/60 and 43/60. Finished both in less than 1 hour.

I can't even explain how proud I would be if I got exactly an 85.

I thought I was going to fail, because I didn't study and those tests always seem very subjective to me. The BarBri vid and some practice questions got me well more than I needed to pass.

And I finished so fast the proctor thought I was messing with her.

Reading the actual model rules doesn't take long and is quite helpful. The questions often test you on the law-like parts of the rules (exceptions and requirements and standards and interactions) and seeing the rules / rule numbers can make it much more obvious how things work than a lecture or book format where the rules can all just blend together.

Reading the explanations / Q&A crap after the model rules takes much longer, but many say is absurdly helpful for the exam (I didn't do it myself).

fck, I hope so
I lol'ed so hard at this I almost spilled my drink all over me. Nice.

I was going to study, but then I had an out of state interview so I prepped for that instead. Basically I know about half of the MPRe very well and the other half not at all. I'm 10/10 on practice problems so far though but its all stuff I actually saw in the lecture (I skipped out after half the lecture). All the conflict of interest stuff is gonna bury me.

anyone use the bar max app for iphones/ipads? my studying thus far has consisted of listening to the "lectures" on the train and doing some of the problems it comes with.

Why do people say that taking ethics doesn't help for the MPRE. This shit is almost exactly the same.

How are you suppose to glue/tape your photo onto the admission ticket if you don't have any glue or tape?

This is gonna be the hardest part of the exam for me.

I plan on handing it over with no tape, and when it falls off yell, "YOU BROKE IT!"

I think last year or the year before it was like 52% was an 85?

Barbri girl told me an 85 was 37/60.

Not sure how reliable she is though.
