Civ Pro is killing me. Took two practice tests on it so far. There's just so much stuff that we covered and I don't feel like I'm hitting all the issues when doing these. Of course no answer to compare it to, which does not help at all. :x

you don't listen to music while studying? I did doing Ks earlier, and I'll probably transition into crim in about 20 min.

Ohh yeah I feel that. I switched to classical so that wouldn't happen. I never really liked classical music that much before, but it's actually great background music.

Classical music is TCR for everything. Reading, brief writing, during exams. I go crazy if I'm not listening to something.

Chopin is my #1, especially for studying.

Hmm yeah it's helpful but some of the things differ a little from what my prof said. I really need to read remedies though because I don't really understand any of that. I think it's most useful just for the examples and getting some practice working problems out.

Anything you like, honestly. I go to a lot of on-campus concerts so I usually download the things I hear there. I also really like movie scores (so not like classic classical, but still instrumental/orchestral.) My favorite is the Atonement soundtrack. I can link some stuff if you want. I'm not knowledgeable at all; I just believe you should listen to things that are beautiful to you, not stuff that other people think is "good classical music."

I'm not in con law but every time a Scalia dissent is included in my reading for other classes I get so stoked.

Crim law practice exams tonight.

I felt horrible after I finished. Like I had no idea what the hell I had just written. But after reading the model answer, my spirits are lifted again because I hit almost everything correctly.

What a clusterfuck of a class. My teacher is the worst.

Edit: I think I need to do a lot more exam to come up with a better "attack" system for a bigger hypo. I'm thinking something like this for each "crime:"

Actus reus:
-Conduct
-Circumstances
-Results
Mens rea
Causation
Defenses

Define the conduct, circumstances, and results for the crime at issue. Analyze if they are met. Determine appropriate mens rea. Analyze if it is met. Look at causation and see if it is relevant/present. Look at all defenses and analyze all.

Thinking aloud here, but this is helping meeeeee

I used to really like reading Scalia's opinions because he's one of the strongest writers and delivers the most engaging/interesting/hilarious commentary of the Roberts Court. But, the fifteen page dissents for like 10 cases in a row now has gotten really old. In the string of abortion, AA, and lgbt cases, he just says the same thing, over and over for each subsections of EPC/sub due process. It's boring reading his "TRADITION!!!!!!" schtick or "White people have rights too" thing multiple times in different opinions. Regardless if whether I agree with him, the point becomes mundane after you read it so many times. On the bright side, he intentionally made the case for gay marriage in Lawrence, so I didn't mind taking a few notes there.

I forgot how long outlining actually takes. I severely miscalculated the power dynamic in this relationship.

If by stoked you mean "I know what kind of hooey argument about 'originalism' you're going to yell yet will not be tested on so I'm just going to go ahead and skip the next 7000 pages of your Boss Nass-like rabbling" then YES, I whole-heardtedly agree.
