Our exam had no connection to the practice exams given to us by our prof. I would be distressed if not for everyone else saying “what the F― just happened?”

I got my first assignment a couple of days ago ;)

That sucks... we haven't even started our exams yet (first one tomorrow), so I saw it and all I could think of was wow, that is possibly the lowest thing on my priority list right now haha.

Feel like I've completely blown it on every exam. Pretty messed up how an entire semester's worth of work ends with what was probably a sub-par performance on a three hour exam.

On both my exams I've take so far, I feel good... but not great. Like I feel I made a good showing of effort and knowledge. I feel like there's no way I can get a C, but I'm not sure it's good enough for the As. Though, I sure as shit wrote a lot for my CivPro final: 5500 words. Hopefully those are all quality.

So is a 5k word count a lot? I was worried because I thought I heard that was really small, but I think I might be confusing word count and page count (5,000 words vs. 5 pages).

I feel meh about the exams. I have this lurking suspicion that I missed some huge issues. Don't want to talk to anyone about it to find out.

How many hours? I wrote about 4,100 on a four hour exam, and I heard someone else wrote a similar amount. I wrote about 2,500 words in a 3 hour exam today, not sure how that was in comparison.

How do you guys see word counts? I've looked everywhere on the exam soft screen and only found character counts.

I've done my best to not remember. Really not looking forward to opening that can of worms when I have to edit my memo into a writing sample over break :(

I had something like 21,000+ letters on a three hour exam. I think thats about 3,500 words.

It was 3 hours - but property, so tons of stuff to cover.

And Adonai - if its exam4 or whatever, you just have to click the button that says show/hide doc stats

Im was at 3400 for a 3 hour closed book and 3600 for a 3 hour open book. I finished the open book like 15 mins early, and I was watching this girl next to me type word for word these crazy long paragraphs from her outline. No fucking way any of that shit made sense in relation to the question.

It was 4 hour open book CivPro exam and the 5500 words filled up a full 7 pages single-spaced.. And we just did ours in Word and then submitted into the school database, so we could simply check the word count in the program and keep the exam answer.

Is it sad that when I just realized that I could watch a show on the DVR instead of in real time on TV I got excited that I would have ten extra minutes to study from skipping commercials?

I just rambled for 3 hours open book, and ended up with 5k words. I feel like there was never a fact or much less a pattern that squared with what I had in my outline. So I was pulling these disparate theories and doctrines to advance my theory on what happened lol.

My conclusion is either A. I really missed something(s) and my BS reasoning will not go far, or B. I had everything down and I saw past clear cut answers. Hoping for B, thinking A. (options that is, I sure hope for an A)

Regardless, onto the next one!

I told my professor today that I'd give him one less paper to grade in return for a B. He said no. So I'm currently studying for his exam by watching Youtube videos. Shows him.

The only sad thing about it is that you're just realizing it now.

True... I mean obviously I know how a DVR works, but usually since I'm home on Mondays I don't use it. I was making dinner and thinking about taking time out to watch a show and then a lightbulb went off. I just had to shake my head at myself that I actually got excited about an extra ten minutes of studying. :(

Though my brain is turning to jello at this point, it wouldn't be surprising if I completely forgot how to operate anything other than my laptop.

It's incredible how much I forget about a subject moments after I walk out of an exam. I've forgotten at least half of civ pro only a week later.
