Was in a silent classroom, and everyone is staring at me because I'm doing that halfway in between thing where you are laughing hysterically but trying to keep it quiet. That is just too funny.Ty Webb wrote:This is actually me doing the income tax exam today:

Actually not a bad idea. Perhaps I'll have a bloody mary tomorrow morning to steady the hand?fathergoose wrote:All is lost for income tax. I think I'm going to take in a thermos of mimosas to take the edge of the beating. 1250 makes me want to throw a chair out the library window.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I didn't get class low. There was a 3L in front of me, and he had no clue what was going on. For starters, he left his laptop at home and was handwriting the exam. He was also sitting right in front of me, and his lack of doing anything was distracting. I looked up during the exam a few times (4 hours) and this guy was staring out the window every time. Then he goes to the bathroom or a walk or something for 30 minutes. My roommate was also in my row, and claims the guy left the room twice for twenty minutes. The guy was either 3L with offer in hand or just said fuck this.
Although, I shouldn't be laughing as I am going to be just like that guy in my closed book admin law final. I have no job lined up, have no clue what went on in any of my classes, and still can't get motivated to do anything. I can't imagine what it's like for you guys with SA's lined up. Granted, it's not like any of my options change. Shit law, doc review or dropping out will still be available when I get my grades sometime in January.
Has anyone put a disclaimer on the top of their test? Something like "If you want to skip reading this, I'll take a grade that's 2-3 points below median. If you do decide to read this, I'm sorry."schwar46 wrote:I'm in your Admin class. Wow. Happy holidays.BunkMoreland wrote:I guess this might quasi-out me, but our prof emailed us today post-exam and basically said to not feel so bad about the exam because even the best grade in the class was below a failing grade on a normal scale pre-curve. lol.

Shiiiit. Thank you, this makes me feel better about my seminar paper due Friday.wiseowl wrote:Wow. I have a 30 page paper due by Friday at midnight. Still on page 1.
The professor for one of the seminars I took this quarter made it pretty clear that we can push back our paper's deadline (which is currently set at Dec 30) into as far in the future as we want. As somebody who is constantly procrastinating, this is not good news. Looks like winter break is going to be a back-and-forth between working on my comment and writing the seminar paper. 1L may have been emotionally tolling, but at least I had winter break to myself to just lay around and do nothing.....wiseowl wrote: I have a 30 page paper due by Friday at midnight. That would be epic. I fell asleep reading the Nutshell in the library, like some rookie ass LLM.deebs wrote:Has anyone put a disclaimer on the top of their test? Professors think they're being nice when they give you extensions... but no.Helmholtz wrote:The professor for one of the seminars I took this quarter made it pretty clear that we can push back our paper's deadline (which is currently set at Dec 30) into as far in the future as we want. I'm picking two topics of the semester- Scope of Review - and TBD. If the test calls for something else, fuck it, move on to the next question.
I may try to take it Thursday so I can hit the bars with a couple guys leaving Friday morning. Yeah, I'm planning my finals around my drinking schedule. I'll let you know though. Are you taking it Friday, we should get beers after
