Anybody know of any good books to use to help with a policy-based approach to Property?

Also in terms of supplements? What exactly are HORNBOOKS and do they differ from the rest of the supliments (EE, Emanuels, Gilbert etc). If you got one of those supliments, would you still need a hornbook? Or is a hornbook more useful than one of those supliments?

Do you have any old exams from the professor? How do you know he is going to test on policy? Most professors who constantly talk about policy test on BLL.

If your professor has already taught at your school you could look up there old exam, a model answer, and maybe talk to some 2/3L's about the test. There is no reason to focus on policy if BLL is going to be tested. Policy is like icing on a cake.

A Hornbook summarizes and explains the law in a specific area. That is different from your casebook which consists basically of cases to illustrate the law. In my opinion, E&E's are hornbooks and usually all that you need for class and then other supplements such as Exam Pro for exam study. The answer is like a lot of law, it depends. If you have a class that is policy based, then I would recommend a hornbook. For property, probably one of the best is Principles Of Property Law Concise Hornbook and it is about 12.00 used on Amazon.

My teacher is new so there aren't any of his old exams available or anything, and yeah he flat out said we would be two policy based essays, and two issue spotters.

Might i ask, what exactly would a policy question even potentially look like? I've never heard of this in any of my review and I don't hear about it a lot. Would we still get a hypothetical fact set and be expected to analyze it in a different way?

Thanks for the link-- will definitely check that book out!

"Understanding property" would be OK , if your professor does not go to deep ...otherwise , you need hornbook ..I think
