Perhaps. But, I did decide that I don't want to pursue a traditionally 'legal' career. I may just go do whatever in DC. Lobbying or something. In which case I think Int. would be better. Oh, well if that's the case then IL may be better because IP is likely way too technical, and useless, for a non-law career.

Also, congrats TTH! Write on invitations go out next week at my school, so hopefully I'll be on LR or at the very least, a secondary.

Writing cover letters. Writing in "and a member of the INSERT JOURNAL HERE" for later editing. If I have to delete that because I failed to make LR or a secondary, I will feel so unbelievably defeated.

Now that I've put in my Withdrawal papers, I'll never find out if I made Law Review.

And as an added bonus, I have another Writing Competition to prepare for now! I'm about to read Prof. Volokh's book on the topic, and hopefully be better prepared than I was for the last one.

I'm told the IP journal isn't so much strictly IP as it is "law and technology." I know I'll enjoy it more, so it's like balancing happiness or something looking good on my resume. Sucks.

Is it possible to not make Law Review because your Bluebook Editing sucked really bad, even if your actual submitted piece is amazing

I thought about buying/checking this out to get a jump on writing a note, but I'm pretty sure I'd never open the fucking thing.

There's a good chance I'll never read it either. I actually bought a copy last fall - never cracked it once.

Probably more of the same next time. I'll put it off for a long time, then half ass down the stretch!

Flawless blueblooking is basically a requirement for them to even read your actual submission. If you fuck up your cites, I'm pretty sure they just toss it aside.

Flawless blueblooking is basically a requirement for them to even read your actual submission. If you fuck up your cites, I'm pretty sure they just toss it aside.

This isn't necessarily accurate. Bluebooking for our write-on was only 25% of the total write-on grade.

I'm hoping they focused on the cites to the exclusion of my substance, which was, um, somewhat lacking in substance.

Haha I've been doing the same as well. However, I have much less faith than you. I screwed up something big and only noticed it with very little time to fix it, so my citations got less attention than they deserved. Also journals tend to take significantly less 3Ls than 2Ls. I heard one rumor that in the past, LR only takes about 1 or 2 3Ls, which makes sense for them but is disheartening for me.

It's totally possible, as long as your school has grade-ons. I barely opened my Bluebook.

I'm sure I screwed up something huge and didn't notice it at all. However, if my phone doesn't ring at ALL on judgment day next week, I might cry. I'm definitely not expecting LR at this point, I'll be okay with a secondary. My bluebooking was flawless but what I wrote was pretty horrendous (as in, was this kid drunk when he was writing this?).

If my stupid school could officially announce law review already so the secondaries could start making offers, I would really appreciate it.

I typed 12 pages of my write on between 10am-4pm the day mine was due. I also had a page min of 18 and i submitted 15 (including a at least a dozen id endnotes i dropped just to add space). It was an insult to excrement. I got onto our highest ranked secondary journal.

Point is, just relax. theres nothing you can do about it now, so go enjoy whats left of your summer. Good luck!

so my grades aren't that great (i would guess maybe only slightly above median after a fairly significant drop from first to second semester) and i did the write-on competition in a very rushed manner and didn't understand what took everyone so goddamn long and i got on one of the secondary journals

i feel like i should do it but i really don't want to. i'm gonna use this thread to ask what you people think i should do. so

what should i do? i was looking forward to just taking some exams and not having any deadlines and stuff.
