No one will ever outperform you with your own outline, so it's not like you are going to shoot yourself in the foot. Go ahead and share it, it's good Karma. You never know when the other student or one of their friends will help you out in the future. Dumb people get lucky.

+1. I think the above is prob true. At least for me, it seems outlining is way more about the process than about the product. I think you prob got a lot more out of creating the outline than someone else will get from using it.Cupidity wrote:No one will ever outperform you with your own outline, so it's not like you are going to shoot yourself in the foot. Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
I think you should share them. An outline in itself is just a stack of paper with words on them. It is the process of making it that gives you the advantage; an advantage they will never gain since they will just be hawking off you.

Not always true...Cupidity wrote:No one will ever outperform you with your own outline
But if you are in a position where you don't have to worry about grades, why not share them?

Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
I don't think I'd have the balls to even ask someone for their own personal outline.
However, as painful as it would be, I'd probably still give it to 'em.

Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
I think you have to share if they ask, even if it makes them D-Bags. I think personal outlines are off limits because you actually put the time into making it, unlike outlines passed on from older students where you did nothing to make them.
Just my 2 cents.
On that note MBusch I'll be needing copies of all your outlines in triplicate, preferably spiral bound with blue cover sheets. Tabs are optional but encouraged. I'll be expecting them by Wednesday after Property.

Why would you help someone in class do better than you lol? It's one thing to help someone on an issue or a question, or do practice tests with them or just answer questions, but give them your entire outline? lol.

At this point, does a possible marginal hit to your GPA (and I mean really marginal, and quite unlikely) hurt you more than the good will you will get from the asker and his friends for sharing?
That's how you have to frame it in your mind. If you already have a job lined up, etc., and aren't scrapping for a position right now, then I don't see why you wouldn't.

Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
b/c i came to class everyday, took meticulous notes, did the readings (well, most), etc. it's not so much a loss to me im concerned about - its the UNJUST ENRICHMENT for the person AND his/her friends who didnt put in the time.Unemployed wrote: But if you are in a position where you don't have to worry about grades, why not share them?
EDIT: i love gchat and online shopping just as much as everyone else!!

Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
right, i agree, it wont hurt me at all. but just seems unfair in terms of enrichment for them (see above). and i dont want to be a moral hazard for this other person either.BeenDidThat wrote:At this point, does a possible marginal hit to your GPA (and I mean really marginal, and quite unlikely) hurt you more than the good will you will get from the asker and his friends for sharing?

I don't get why people have hardons for their own outlines, its not like you're that smart where its going to make a difference for someone.

For what it's worth, I know two current judges that were at the bottom of their law school class. Just saying.

Re: POLL: share my precious outline??
ok im going to sleep now, but i decided i will share my outline. i made my decision based 98% on FiveSermon's reason. other 2%: i realized that in the classes i got A's, i didnt even use my outline during the exam.FiveSermon wrote:you are being very undood if you don't share your outlines.

Haha touché.kalvano wrote:Glad to know my classmates are so share-friendly.
Part of it is not wanting to share my hard work but most of it is putting my outline out there for someone else to look at and criticize. I'd much rather work together with someone to make an outline than make one and share it with them
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
