I can't think of one off the top of my head, but there's gotta be at least one nickname out there that was made for this kind of business card. If that's the one he's got, things might be totally different.

OP....what is it?

Maybe his nickname is "One-Eighty"

Common sense works wonders, especially with three years of work experience already under your belt. Don't do a nickname, period.

Sorry about the late response, did not realize this thread was still alive.

lol, my nick name is not quite that unique. However, I would rather not disclose it here.

The name I used at work was my nick name. Making your nick name your first name at work is relatively easy. However, since I am still in law school, I want to make sure there is no confusion as to who I am. Anyways, this issue is moot for now since I won't be getting business cards.

Doing this is only acceptable if the card says:

I'm a Harvard Law student, bitch.

Not quite a Harvard law student, but does Yale count?

Did not read all the replies but..

I am older, and have had many biz cards. I find it very handy to have a nice professional card with nothing more than my name and contact info.

No "nick name" though. Just get some made that are simple and professional so that when you make a good contact with someone you have something to hand them to remember/contact you. It is very normal.

It will make you look good to be prepared and competent.

And, if it is inappropriate... don't hand it over. Duh.
