Some profs give out 100s, while some profs give out 95s as the best grade. Obviously, this means profs who give out 100s and high 90s have to give out more really bad grades to the bottom of the class, and profs who have a tighter mean will have fewer scores in the low 70s. This just seems to hurt people in the top half, while not really helping people at the bottom (because once you get down that low grades-wise, you 're not getting a job based off of grades anyway).
Sorry for the rant... this just really screws me because my property prof doesn't give out high 90s or 100s, while another property prof gave out 4 100s. If my prof used this kind of scale, I'd be about 12-15%iles higher be sitting in good shape for law review. Curious to hear if this is common and I should stop whining.
This is assuming, of course, that you would have merited a 100.
