I couldn't agree more--corporate america can suck it. I started working in insurance over 3 years ago with promises to being promoted and making an excellent salary and it's nothing but meaningless reports and barely a liveable wage.

i'll be 31 entering law school, but i wish i were 25. a little time to test the waters post UG. and then figure i should go to law school. i didn't go because of the massive debt. now i can't think of doing anything but practicing law. i seriously day dream about it at work when i'm mindlessly working those aforementioned reports.

but yup i'd still be here. It's stressful as hell, drives me insane, and is giving me a stomach ulcer, but I love it, it's what i've wanted to do since I was a little kid and spent weekends at my mom's law firm hanging out with the partners there and watching them work

god I'm a nerd

+1

I guess I would have told me to work harder on the LSAT so that I wouldn't have been so worried about getting into my first choice and would have had better scholly opps... but that said?
I love law school. I've wanted to do this for a long time and I'm pretty happy about how it's going, so far.

3 years ago I was a sophmore in college. I would be saying, do your school work, quit getting so f****d up! And then I probably would have graduated with the GPA that I earned my final semester of college and be at HYS right now.

Yes, and I would slap me into submission if I argued. God how I wish I'd submitted to law school three years ago.

I think law school was a pretty terrible risk. I actually enjoy the law, but if I don't get me some of that sweet sweet big firm job I'm totally ass fucked.

I don't want to know how employable an EE with terrible undergrad GPA and bottom third at a T14 is.

Probably. I still need a visa and I haven't done math/science since highschool so b/med school was out. So law school was basically my only option. 7 years ago I would probably have told myself to consider premed. 8 years ago I would have told myself not to kid myself that I'd want to move back home after college.

What kind of dumbshit logic is that?

First of all there aren't two careers, MD or JD, there are hundreds of careers.

Second you can take the math and science courses if you like.

I am aware that there are hundred of careers. But the ones you can pursue that make it likely that someone will sponsor you for a visa are more limited. Given where I was 3 years ago I would have likely eventually gone to law school, but I would have taken more time off and stayed at my post college job(which I loved but had to leave because...my visa ran out)
