It depends on the type of exam being given. If it's all multiple choice, and the person knew the answer to every question, then the person is justified in saying they will do well (if you get all the multiple choice questions right, you get an A regardless of the curve). If it's an issue spotter/essay exam, then there is no way of knowing how well you did because there is no way of knowing how well your peers did.
