Not only is it a violation to represent yourself as an attorney when you are not licensed, but it is also unethical to claim to be a specialist unless you do in fact hold such a certification.piccolittle wrote:[Y]our friend is . . . a d-bag.

You should delete the OP. Sheesh. Why would you do this? Flame? And you should tell your friend he fucked up.zeth006 wrote:Errr, I'm going to reserve judgment on him. He's a good guy and ethical issue aside, even though two wrongs don't make a right, he got his money back.

I'm not convinced that this wasn't a flame, but you do what you must. Really dumb move posting that here, OP.reasonable_man wrote:JazzOne wrote:You should delete the OP. Sheesh. Errr, I'm going to report "him" to the state bar and let them make a determination on the ethical issues. So you might want to give "him" a heads up. And if "two wrongs don't make a right, he got his money back" is truly the take home message you got from this exchange, you're in need of a calibration of your ethical compass.
Maybe the law is a big joke to everyone else, but now that I have studied the AMA Model Rules, I know that not only is the OP's story a violation, but it is a violation for an attorney who knows about this to fail to report it. I'm not saying I think it should be reported. I'm saying you don't know what you're talking about though.Paul Allen wrote:reasonable_man wrote:zeth006 wrote:Errr, I'm going to reserve judgment on him. I'm sorry that as a practicing attorney I find a law student acting in a highly unethical manner to be a serious issue.Paul Allen wrote:reasonable_man wrote:zeth006 wrote:Errr, I'm going to reserve judgment on him. Did you read that garbage. This kid is competition for the graduates of the People's College of Law; at best!
Its nice to see so many aspiring lawyers having no regard for the professional rules of conduct.2807 wrote:Dear State Bar:
