Who all took it today? How'd you feel about it? Did anyone else have an insanely small desk?

Just out of curiosity, had you or are you taking ethics currently before you took this test? I heard it was pretty easy to kill the MPRE without a formal ethics course, just wanted your opinion.

No, no ethics yet. Next semester. hopefully that doesn't bite me in the ass.

Yeah I am debating whether I want to take Ethics or not before I take that test. I heard it isn't all that difficult to pass without taking a formal Ethics course. What did you think of it?

Well you can definitely take it without taking a formal ethics course. I wish I had spent more time learning the rules before I focused on practice questions.

While it is possible to take the MPRE before taking Professional Responsibility I would suggest taking it after the course. There is no reason to rush passing the MPRE. At least in my state you need to pass the MPRE within 2 years of passing the bar; so there is ample time to take it.

That said, most people can spend 1-2 days studying and generally pass without problem. Assuming you had PR; otherwise I might spend more time on it. I also recommend taking it in August so it doesn't conflict with other classwork.

Regarding the test itself, it is generally pretty easy with a high passage rate. However, they do try to trick you with subtle wording in the rules (e.g., may v. shall).

For people who took MPRE in the past, will the result be posted on the website (with or without password access), like the bar exam result? That is, will anybody else know your test result? Feel bombed the test and hope no one notice that if did fail it the first time .

If you reported it to one of the state bars, they will get the score. I don't think that they get posted online, though.

Feeling like you didn't pass is very common coming out of the exam. You'll probably find you passed with plenty of room to spare.

I don't think your state is the norm. I believe most states have a much narrower band of time, and some require you to take it before you sit for the bar.

A PR class is not necessary at all for the MPRE. Also, studying shouldn't take more than 10-15 hours, so I wouldn't worry about it conflicting with classwork. Barbri video + short outline + practice exams (focusing on going over the answers) = enough to pass comfortably.
