best at home laptop
Hey everyone, right now I am using a netbook for in class use and I am looking for a 15 inch laptop for typing out outlines at home. I'm looking for something between1,200-1,500 and 15-17 inch. I am wondering what everyone recommends (I prefer something that's sleek looking)

I'd get that if I had that kind of money to spend. It's not sleek looking, but that thing will kick the crap out of similarly priced laptops.

If you're getting something for at home use, why not a desktop?

Assuming he wants to take it to exams to have something bigger/easier to type on.bk187 wrote:If you're getting something for at home use, why not a desktop?
If he never plans on moving it, building your own desktop is TCR.

Ditto. If he doesn't have another computer but just needs something to take to class maybe 1-2 times a semester, might as well get a desktop replacement and an external monitor for playing the occasional movie.beach_terror wrote:Assuming he wants to take it to exams to have something bigger/easier to type on.bk187 wrote:If you're getting something for at home use, why not a desktop?

I have two laptops that run along these lines. One's for watching movies and everyday use and the other's almost strictly for school and is much lighter.
