I am, but I have put the 'B' in brief.

I was creating detailed briefs until last week when I was updating an outline and realized how time wasting it can be to really be detailed with the facts.

So yes, still briefing, but using about 25% less words than before.

I still brief. I read through my book, underlining/circling what appears relevant/significant, make my own personal notes in the margins, then transfer that to my notes. The briefs I have are more for my outlines; I type my briefs in black on Word, then supplement the brief with my inclass notes as we go in red. At the end of the week it just allows me to pinpoint what I need to extract for the outline.

The fact pattern is pretty unimportant, but I brief in that I take pretty good notes on the holding's reasoning. The fact pattern is only there so that if the rule was kind of fact based - like reliance as remedy against the statute of frauds, then it's there, but it's only as much as absolutely necessary.

I'm a 2L who still briefs. My briefs are less formal than they used to be, but I like it. It's comforting. The only modification from the beginning is that I try to have only about 1-2 short sentences of facts, 3 short sentences at most.

Sample Brief:

F: Cow fell on bitch.
I: Res Ipsa?
H:Obviously
R: Cow's don't just go around falling through the ceiling without you being negligent.

They are all like that now. Most of them illustrated.

I was using an outline from a previous student in class, and it had been completely normal and very helpful. I get to gifts causa mortis, and there is a case where a lady killed herself, and he's running through the checklist of gifts CM.

I almost burst out laughing in the middle of class when I got to:

Person must die: Shit yeah she died. She jumped off a fucking building.

Can't wait to get to that stuff! My favorite was "bitch thought she was batman, drove into truck."

It was just completely random. Nowhere before or since has there been anything else like it.

I definitely have some random stuff like that in my briefs .

I still brief mostly out of "comfort", but I like the organization too and it helps me remember better by typing things up then just by making margin notes.
