Haven't taken notes...halp!
I have attended every class, read all the assigned readings, etc... However, I haven't taken any notes! What should I do to review the class? Go back and re-read everything and take notes? I'm trying to begin my outlines.

Help with what? Professors speak. You should be taking notes on what they emphasize.

I definitely think an anonymous internet forum where no one knows you or anything about your situation is the best place to ask questions about life-altering events.

See if anyone in your section is generous enough to share their notes...I know I wouldn't.

Well, I do have every lecture recorded. Before I do my readings I read the corresponding E&E section. I just take no notes in class. I could get notes from someone.

Not a flame...
It's really that hard to believe someone has taken no notes in class? I'd still appreciate help.

Recording lectures is against the honor code at most schools...Lion8974 wrote:Well, I do have every lecture recorded. Before I do my readings I read the corresponding E&E section. I just take no notes in class. I could get notes from someone.

Yes. If you're smart enough to read E&E's, then you obviously have some grasp beyond the mere elementary of law school.

I've read the E&E's and SOMETIMES the Hornbook if I really don't understand something. As far as notes go to qualify I only write something down when the professor says "THIS WILL BE ON THE EXAM" otherwise I go AFK in class.

I agree with everyone else. I think this is a flame. Nobody who knows to read E&Es and hornbooks is uninformed enough to fail to take notes in class.
But just in case you are serious: This is not undergrad. Professors are not going to flag every potential exam issue with a "hey, y'all, pay attention, this will be on the exam" statement. There are a couple of reasons for this, but I think the biggest one is that some (most?) professors don't know what will be on their exam until they write it the week before finals. And okay, look, E&Es and hornbooks are all good, but they are NOT a substitute for your professor's take on the issue. Your professor will be grading your exam, not Glannon or whomever. Keep your eye on the prize.
Can you salvage your semester? Yes. Start taking notes right freaking now. Go back and make sure you have every BLL rule from every case up to this point. It is stupid to pay tuition and then not take advantage of the information conveyed in class. There is a saying in the practice of medicine which goes: "Listen to your patient; he is telling you the diagnosis." Similarly, I'd say, "Listen to your professor. He is telling you what will be on the exam and how he wants the issues framed."
There are no shortcuts in law school that I know of. Class time should be work time.

Lori, thanks. I got the lectures for all my classes and 4 people gave me their notes. Each lecture hour lecture takes about 30-40min to listen to if you skip through the bs. Should be done with all classes over the weekened.

I derived 90% of my outlines from my reading notes. But I ordered things based on their emphasis by the prof. If your "should I drop out" question was serious, wtf. Just wtf.

I honestly don't know why I bother reading anything on TLS anymore.

In case you cared, I just finished listening to all the lectures from the beginning of the semester (CivPro) until now and took notes. I went 15 hours straight with the playback speed faster than normal. It was a really helpful review, maybe an epic waste of time. Either way, thanks. On to the next class!

You just get up and walk around the classroom? Or just get up and wander around the building? If so, you're my hero.Lion8974 wrote:I've read the E&E's and SOMETIMES the Hornbook if I really don't understand something. I usually just sit and stare without listening, pretty retarded of me. When the professor calls on me I say some random stuff unrelated to the question. Surprisingly all my professors find me amusing (amusing because I'm dumb, perhaps).
Also, we already had an exam and I received the second highest grade in my section which realllllllly pissed the gunners off because of my total lack of care during class.

You share your grades with your classmates? That seems kind of douchey.Lion8974 wrote:I usually just sit and stare without listening, pretty retarded of me. Re: Haven't taken notes...halp!
I agree, but it was more of a bunch of us got together and discussed how we approached the exam and what we got so we could get a better understanding of what the prof wants. After the group got together word spreads in your section about who got what. I'm not the kind of person to announce that stuff.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
