ITT: People who take off their glasses to ask a question

Post by Bustang » Tue Sep 28, 2010 8:42 am

I hope every single person who does this gets glaucoma/blindness/falls into a deep hole. It doesn't make you smarter. It doesn't make you look like Kevin Kostner. You look like an idiot. Also, if you do this action followed by posing a question to a class and or change your tone of voice in order to sound more intelligent, please go sit in the corner.

I do, but I could give a damn how it makes me look. I hate glasses and take them off whenever I don't have to read text far away.

The gunners getting to ya? Anything those douches do are annoying.

Unfortunately for the few people like yourself, you're tainted because of the majority of bad apples. Gunners fucking love doing this. I'm willing to bet some serious money that some of them don't even need to wear glasses. They just like the "look."

Ya, I really should switch to contacts to avoid any incidental gunner taint from the dbags.

No. I purposely made this post before any of my classes so that no one at my school knows who I am hating on (assuming they know who I am via my awesome TAR etc).

ITT: future below-medians.

PSA: during 1L, focus only on yourself and your work; not what other people are doing, in class or out.

It can be an intimidating move when used correctly. There is also the less drastic but often equally effective 'over the glasses' look:

You sound like a douche. Go / yourself. I only wear glasses to see the chalkboard dillhole and otherwise don't like them.

Nobody does the take-off-glasses move like Stephen Colbert. Nobody.

I'm not sure you're understanding my point. Nowhere did I say that I'm hating on people who simply wear glasses. I am hating on people who smugly remove them, for no apparent reason, when addressing the professor.

i wear reading glasses and always take them off when i talk to people. i feel like i'm behind a window. i wear them in class to take notes and take them off when i speak to the professor. If this bothers you i'm very sorry. life is often difficult and frustrating.

I remove my contact lenses to ask questions. Builds the suspense.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
